This website was created by Dr. Narcisa Ianopol, anterior segment surgeon, vitreo-retinal surgeon, as well as clinical researcher working in governmental but also in private clinics in Romania. This website is the first one in the country to provide continuous and correct information for the patients with diabetes mellitus about their possible ocular complications and treatment options. Descriptions of the diagnosis and treatment of other frequent ocular disorders that should be known by the patients are also included (age related macular degeneration, cataract, glaucoma, retinal detachment, retinal veins occlusions, strabismus, wearing glasses and low vision). The theoretical explanations are supported by videos with surgeries realized by Dr. Narcisa Ianopol and other international surgeons.

New: Dr. Ianopol private office recently inaugurated a private operating room where, by using modern equipments, all types of surgeries on the anterior segment (cataracts, glaucoma, ocular trauma, implantation of the intraocular lenses on aphakic eyes, etc) as well as vitreo-retinal surgeries (retinal detachments, vitreous hemorrhages, complications after cataract surgeries, etc) are successfully performed. Dr. Ianopol was trained by international experts in these fields of surgery in prestigious clinics in Germany and USA (see the "Physicians" section).

The patients may schedule an appointment for examination and surgeries on the addresses indicated on the website.
